I haven't made a blog entry since around January. It was around that time that I fell into a deep funk that I am still strugling with. the depressive side of Bipolar Disorder.

i really didn't fall off the face of the earth. The people at STUMP (a trivia game held at local bars) can testify they see me almost every Wednesday night (I come in most helpful when the question is in the World Geography or Mythology categories).

I am simply unsocial recently. But I know communtiy support is positive for any recovery.

Is it all right to love that word "tribal" but acknowledge that you are not actually tribal and you are more of a contemporary individual?

Is it all right to love the word "reconstructionist" but then to acknowledge you are not a 'full time' recon, just someone who appreciates the hard work reconstructionists put in for a more healthier and saner paganism?

Is it all right to be content with not knowing 'everything' about the path you're on?

Can you be content with ambiguity and uncertainity? (hell yeah! whoops, not that rhetorical if I answer, huh?)

The oak grows slowly. And I am a cracked acorn. Probably will be one for years. And that is ok.

One day he just didn't go to school.

He didn't call the school to say why he wasn't coming in.

When the school called him, he didn't return the call.

Unfortunately, he wasn't a student. He was a teacher. And he has lost his job.

Why? Like all the teachers at my school, he stressed professionalism.

I was so very much enjoy taking business from him. And I was so looking forward to taking Asian Bodywork from him. He is a Thai Yoga Massage Therapist and has a certification from Thailand.

Oh well.

Another teacher, and a couple of students, and myself were having fun at an afterschool workshop learning together Thai Yoga Massage. omgz. The streches are wonderful! Life goes on, and it will be fun. But sometimes I think I love my fellow students and my teachers too much. When one of them drops out, there is a little blue cloud of funk that makes me a little sad.

But school is a blast. If I don't wear green I get in trouble with the girls in the massage clinic because they know me as having green scrubs, green socks, green pens, a green case for my iPod and a green handmade scarf. LOL

One student, closer to my age than the rest, nicknamed me 'Mr. Sassy-pants' and the name stuck! Come over here and let me sass you!

Sometimes it seem we are not serious even for a moment, we are have so much fun. But we learn through the humor.

Do other people enjoy the life this much? I do the best I can do and allow life around to figure out what I cannot. And I remain open to awen/imbas/divine inspiration.

I go to concerts more rarely than I go to movies and that is hardly at all.

But with Nickel Creek having a "Farewell for now tour", I went to see them perform in Lowell, MA last night and will go see them at the Bank of America pavillion in Boston, MA less than 4 weeks from now!

The outdoor event last night was perfect weather, and someone (I think Sara or Chris or Glen {Glen Phillips performed as well}) point out the beautiful sunset.

The music, of course, was excellent. And with Glen Phillips there, we got to hear songs from MAS (Mutual Admiration Society), the CD which was a collaboration between Nickel Creek and Glen Phillips.

The only thing I could have had less of was the banter, all in-jokes that was funny only to the band and their road buddies. It was interesting that Chris elected two of the songs he wrote ("Ode To a Butterfly" and "Smoothie Song")as the most effeminate titles for a bluegrass piece written by a man. Glen Phillips reminded him of another bluegrass instrumental piece that Chris Thile wrote. While not an effeminate title, certainly an emasculating title ("Stumptown").

They introduced two new songs "If You Break Up With Me" (written by Chris Thile) and another written by Sara Watkins, the name of which I am having a brain fart about now. The former is easy to remember because of the great line in the song: "If you break up with me, could you fix me up with one of your friends?"

Bought some overpriced Nickel Creek swag too. Was sorta ripshit upon discovering that I ran out of scotch tape when I wanted to put up my new (and only)poster right before bed.

Can't wait to see them again. For those who have never seen them live, it ~~sucks to be you~~ is a must!

Freedom - What It Is and What It's For? - Absolutely Everything - Say It Again!

Ok. You be thinking, it's the 4th of July, and with my subject like paraphrasing a 60's song (War-What It Is...) you want something political...move on to another blog (don't get me wrong, political freedom is something this country (USA) needs desperately to have a dialogue about and not a cultural war over freedom. and we need it before we further sink right down the tube in the eyes of the world...but we've done that already, haven't we?)

But no, this is more personal and individual, so bear with me as I simply interupt your fireworks and BBQ's as re-introduce myself (HA-HA!)

It's been a month and a day since I last posted. HOLY MOLEY!

Well I am in my new home. A two bedroom apartment in Winthrop, MA. Same wonderful roommate, new easy-going laid back landlord, no more rage-a-holic, paranoid, stupid, violent, devious, underhanded, spying, lying, con artist with many names Building Manager over me. HAPPY! HAPPY! JOY! JOY!

The 2 bedroom apartment's rent is... no, I won't tell you. It is so cheap, so ridiculously inexpensive (for being in a town bordering Boston, MA), you will weep with jealousy and I don't want your evil eye turned towards me, even your cyber-evil-eye! You'd either weep or piss yourself. Yes, THAT cheap.

Oh, and this neighborhood is a world of difference from Shirley Ave. neighborhood of Revere. No Cambodian gangs, no gaggle of crack-whores on each corner, no constant cloud of doom lingering in the neighborhood.

Winthrop is lovely. Entirely walkable from end to end, with Yacht clubs, mom and pop stores, and shiny happy people (thank you R.E.M.).

In Revere, I loved the fact that I lived 4 blocks away from the ocean. Now? I LIVE ONE HALF OF A BLOCK AWAY FROM THE OCEAN! Did I mention the rent? Oh yeah , I DID! Someone pinch me! (and not just because I like my nipples tweaked. Whoops, more TMI. HA-HA)

As Mae West said, "Come up and see me some time" There is only two way into Winthrop, and here I will talk to my fellow car-less citizens: either you walk from Revere by going down Revere Beach Boulevard and when that ends, go down Winthrop Boulevard until you cross the border into Winthrop Shore Drive, then call with your cell and I'll join you there :-) or the other way, from Boston, is you get on the Blue Line subway and get off at Orient Heights. Then there is no MBTA bus, but there is a couple of buses run by another company, The Paul Revere Bus Line, and you can take either the 712 or 713. 712 will be quicker to get to me. But if you don't want to see me but rather to enjoy beautiful sites, go on the 713 and let it bring you to Shirley Point from there you can walk to Deer Island (technically belonging to East Boston) which is no longer a prison but, so I hear, is a beautiful place to do affirmation. Or so the holistic massage therapist whose studio is around the corner from me tells me. I will 'research' that and report back to y'all! Of course, you might say 'screw the bus, I need to lose the pounds I put on at the last BBQ or picnic I was on'. Well, then when you get off at Orient Heights, just walk down Saratoga Street, and walk across the bridge over the Belle Isle Inlet, and then Saratoga Street, East Boston becomes Main Street, Winthrop.

Of course, I'm not abandoning Revere. Sleeping on the floor which is giving me nerve impingement (a term I would never know expect learning it in massage therapy school), I was on Squire Road, Revere going to five different stores shopping for a bed. (And looking at the teeny-tiny kitchen tables and the flat LCD TVs). Oh and I shall go to Revere on Saturday because Biversity Boston (the social group for Boston area's bisexuals) are going to world famous Kelly's Roast Beef on Revere Beach Boulevard.

And right now, what am I doing? The window in my bedroom closest to the 'puter is open, and the backdoor (which goes from my bedroom, and then on the outside, has a steps going down to the ground) is open as well, giving sunlight and a cool breeze. And I'm feeling fine and dandy. And I'm wondering - does everybody feel this good? 'Cause, damn, I feel good!

He is threatening to throw out my room-mate.

Yep. I have complained about myn room-mate before. That was when I was mis-medicated and was paranoid of him.

Now, I love him as a brother. Honestly.

But the building manager... he is a fucking asshole...despite a fucking huge electric bill, he drained MY electricity for his weed-whacker.

Fuck him.... I am literally wishing his death.... and the threat of prison is not stoping me.

He wants me to declare which side I am on, i am on the side of my brother (my roomie). He can go to hell.

I am so happy about that. Being retarded left me left me with a number of paradoxes. But I've been telling everybody for years that I was demented. If the gov't says it's so, it must be true (hmmm....I wonder if Bush is the retarded one and Cheney is the demented one? Don't worry, I'm a good demented guy.)

I had a stroke at age 30 on August 26, 1997.

I am (and was then) a social drinker, a non-smoker and, on rare occasion, "a 420 partaker".

I was 325 lbs and now am 240 lbs.

Immediately after my stroke I was completely paralyzed on the right side and could not talk at all.

I spent 10 days at Rhode Island Hospital (I lived in Cumberland RI then, I live now in Revere MA). My wife at that time decided to ditch me then. She did not pick me up after my hospital stay. No one did.

I went to the Steere House, a nursing home, where I was the youngest person there at the time.

Ten days in the Steere House, and ~~the fucking bitch~~ my wife changed her mind and picked me up. Already my legs were perfectly fine; I could walk at a distance and briskly with no problem.

A few months of Occupation Therapy, my arm recovers its full use - strength, dexterity, direction, etc...

My speech is good enough today so that most people don't detect anything. When it is late and I had little sleep the night before, I "lose" my words and begin to drool out of the right side of my mouth (fortunately this drooling bit is a rarity).

Two months after my CVA (a major stroke) I had a TIA (a minor stroke)...just a mere disturbance in my vision (everything looked foggy both indoors and outdoors.)

Four months after my stroke, I gave a lecture on "Orthodox Christianity and the Environmental Movement" at Harvard Divinity School. I had to reveiw the speech every day with my speech therapist to prepare it. But damn it, I gave it.

Around that same time, a hematologist finally told me why I had a stroke: I had Anti-Phosphal Lipid Syndrome, a genetic predisposition towards developing blood clots. The men on my father's side of the family often died at early ages of heart attacks, strokes or pulmonary embolisms. I didn't grow up knowing my father's side, just my mother's side.

A year later, my wife divorced me. I was inform by an employer that I was going to be divorced, since my wife herself did not inform me and wanted someone else to tell me in her stead.

I thank my gods every day for my stroke. I lived in fear every moment of my life prior to my stroke. The first day of my stroke, I heard the doctor tell my wife, "Your husband may not survive the day." I thought to myself, "I am going to die, but I haven't yet lived."I was given Holy Unction by an Orthodox priest (what a Catholic might call Last Rites).

It is almost 10 years later and I am writing you this.

I lived in fear of too many people learning that I had desires for men. During the seperation, I started telling everyone I was (and still am!) bisexual (I told my wife I was bisexual 9 years prior when we were not yet dating...but I only told 5 other people in the whole frikin' world)

I always wanted to get tattoos, btu never did, prior to the stroke. Now I have 7 tattoos, and want 6 more.

I always wanted to go to a nude beach but never did before the stroke. I've been to Wreck beach in Vancouver, BC once and Gunnison Beach in Sandy Hook NJ a few times and been to other nude gathering both those of a non-sexual nature and also those of a sexual nature (sex parties; both all men as well as bisexual men and women).

I will probably never follow my previous dream of getting a doctorate in Theology, but I have changed religions and feel very good about that (from Christianity to Neopagan Druidism) and am starting a Massage Therapy program tomorrow. Also, beside someday being a License Massage Therapist, I want to become a Certified Astrologer, although no definate plans in that field yet.

I am working at trying to lose more weight at the gym. I want to someday be "buff like Ahh-nold" LOL!

I was in an Auto accident (a roll over), as a passanger, on April 2nd this year. No broken bones and my incidental pain and problem are already healed. But again, for a split second I thought, just as with the stroke, that I would die or be paralyzed. I thought "If I am to be a paraplegic I will be the happyist paraplegic I can be, and if I die...well, then it's been A GREAT RIDE!!!" How different than saying 'I haven't yet lived'.

I hope your loved one recovers and kudos for sticking with him. Better to be alive and toghether in Attleboro, then alone in Seattle. A stroke is not the end...it could be the beginning. He may emerge a stronger man than he ever was before in a year or two.

OK Can someone tell me which part of human nature makes it so that when I am depressed or have a tragedy in my life I run to post something here on LJ, but when good things keeps happening suddenly I don't post anything?

Ok so many things wonderful things have happened I’ll try to post just one sentence about them (but of course, loquacious me just wants to write endless run-on sentences, one after the other, so I promise nothing! HA!)

Good thing 1) Oh my! There was Thanksgiving In May. Me and my room-mate are getting alone better and better each day. And one the best perks, from my perspective, is that he is a great cook who makes a lot of food. And I am a person who hates to cook who serves a stomach pump for dessert. Did I mention my roomie eats like a bird? So, who eats this wonderful food? C'est moi, mes amis, mais bien sur! So was Thanksgiving in May with the traditional Turkey and such? Well, no, but it was a multi-course dinner, a veritable food extravaganza! Gods, beef, marinated portabella mushrooms, red bliss potatoes, butternut squash and corn on the cob!
If someone had slayed me after this meal, I'd've died with a smile on my face and entered the otherworld with my belt unbuckled to make room for my bulging stomach!

Good thing 2) Went to the Wake Up the Earth Festival in Jamaica Plain MA; a cross between Earth Day, Beltaine and International Worker's May Day, on a small neighborhood scale. Stayed so long I started to pick up the trash afterwards. I was asked, "Are you going to the after-party at Spontaneous Celebrations (the community center that sponsors the festival)" I said "No I spend all my money and can't afford the cover charge". And I was told, "As a volunteer, you get in free!" Now I never planned on volunteering that day, but when I saw everyone leave except the volunteers, I just grabbed a garbage bag and started cleaning up the area. So I said, "Who will attest to the fact that I am an 11th hour volunteer?" So I was led to the organizer of the volunteer and she gave me her own volunteer's button! So got to go in, and had a great, no, make that COSMIC conversation with a fellow Celtophile I had just met, luxfere, and it went on and on and on, neither one of us torc-wearing chaps wanted it to end! And then all the wonderful middle eastern food!

Good thing 3) I am going back to school!!! Never thought I could with no finances, but I was recently approved for Disability Social Security, and a gov't program will pay for school. Then maybe, instead of a shit job I will grumble about all the time, I can get training in a career that I will enjoy. So, now I am just an unemployed nut-case on the dole because someone in the government decided I was a 'retahd' (New England pronunciation) (long story) but someday maybe I will be a Licensed Massage Therapist. Before you ask, the massage test dummies are lining up already, so if you ask to be my homework, you will have to line up in the queue.

Good thing 4) Developing a better and better relationship with my mother over the phone and we both can talk about things we used to avoid talking about. How cool is that?!?

Good thing 5) Roomie works next store to a gym, perhaps the cheapest gym in the Boston area (did some price comparison by phone...even YMCA low-income program doesn't go as low in the price of their membership). So roomie got a free week pass for me to use. I thought it would be awhile before I could afford regular membership, but already I joined and purchased a 6 month membership. And the more I exercise, the more I see lower numbers on my glucometer! YAY!

Good thing 6) I went shopping yesterday. So what, you say? Well my sneakers had a hole in the sole that if you picked it up, you could see light at the other end...and besides, I got tired of changing at the gym and seeing the heel of my left foot bleeding (owie). Oh then there was my hand-me down coffee maker. The one that I had for the last two years. The one that always left a ton of coffee grounds in the coffee, so that I got used to a morning ritual of sip-and-spit. The one that I recently bought a hand held strainer for.

Well, good people of LJ land, I bought new sneakers and I bought a coffee maker. No, make that a Cuisinart, which I was told later, is the Cadillac of Coffee Makers. We must have some luxuries, do you not agree?

And there are more good things on the horizon, like participating on June 28, 2007 in the Voices By the Shore as well as giving more attention to my study/practice of Ogham Divination. But actually I would like to end on the coffee maker craziness because that identifies for me which of my userpics I should use.

I was thinking, all this time, that Kryptonian was the adjective form of Krypton for most everything but that their language was Kryptonese.

How wrong I was! The language of the planet Krypton is also Kryptonian. Kryptonese refers both to Kryptonian language when it is transcribed into the Roman alphabet and also when English is transcribed into the Kryptonian alphabet which has 33 letters (24 consonants and 9 vowels)

How could I possibly know that since the planet Krypton exploded years ago and possibly the only native speakers would be Superman, Supergirl, Power Girl, Superboy-Prime, General Zod, Non and Ursa?
