20th-Jan-2006 03:57 pm - Coffee is your friend
One of the jobs I had in the past included among other duties ordering, pricing and displaying organic fair trade coffee beans.

I just applied online for a Assistant Manager position at a coffee shop. Great pay too.

Smell the coffee, and send good wishes and prayers my way.....

COFFEE...more than a drink, it's an obsession and a lifestyle!!!!

18th-Jan-2006 01:12 pm - To my peeps, [info]puzzld1, [info]lilbjorn and [info]chronarchy
Ok, I don't they think they hired me :)

Why a financial advisement firm would want me, a financial train-wreck whose resumé includes 2 grocery stores and a drug store to my name is beyond me.

But, darn that $146,000 a year salary that I would make in a few years that less 6% of America gets, well that would have supported my champagne tastes! LOL

Ok, I didn't get the job, but I accomplished two minor goals this morning:

1) I was compliant to the injunction stated in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe: DON'T PANIC.... I didn't panic! And I completed all stages of today's activities!

2) I was hoping to be interviewed by the Field Vice President himself and not one of the other managers...my reasons for this was bizarre... his last name was Mickool....just like the protagonist of the Heroic Cycle (or Fenian Cycle) of Irish Mythology, Fionn MacCumhall (pronounced Finn MacCool). Okay, weird goal, but surprisingly it was the VP and not a manager who interviewed me! He was nice guy but I was not what he was looking for.

All is not lost; while waiting for the orientation to begin, I got a call about a job more my speed (retail management), so I will make an offer.

16th-Jan-2006 04:37 pm - HELP!!!
To any of my peeps who believe in either prayer or the ability to send of good wishes:

I have been unemployed almost 9 months now and have an interview with a large company that solicited me from a resumé I have on the 'Net.

It's a big deal: I am kind of in the dark as to what this job entails but there will be a two-hour orientation by a field vice-prez prior to online application and interview with a manager...(oh, a confirmation call occurred in the midst of this blog post).

It will be from 9am till roughly 12:30 pm tomorrow. Hopeful and scared as hell, but hopefully that won't show.

So peeps, pray or do whatever juju it is that you do so well.
